This was partially because the movie's main character was Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon), the film was about her, her becoming a monster, and her fiance.On her wedding day, she is hit by a meteorite infused with Quantonium, a rare and powerful element that causes her to grow to an enormous size. The film just had too many conversations about "nothing", too many sub plots. It seemed there were only two reasons for this: to drag the movie and to bore the hell out of the audience.
There were a few bright spots like B.O.B. (Seth Rogen) (mentioned earlier), alien overlord Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson), & President Hathaway (Stephen Colbert), who actually stole the show. Unfortunately the show wasn't that good; and it didn't matter how big your 3D glasses were!...
